winter-bloom cherry boughs
over algae-tinged icewater
still life through the onsen frame

frost-stripped branches
everseen neverfall firs
willows hanging ghostgreen
mossy steppingstones bridge banks 

spine of these ribbed hills
vein of these fertile valleys
life of this frozen moment
downstream
downdream 
careening
and gone

uregawa         universe-communicating-river
anthropological footprints
an etymological milky way
		the galaxy in a droplet
